Upbit Adds Six New Tokens as Market Reaction Diverges
Upbit's latest round of listings triggered wild price swings, with traders favoring compute and AI projects over others.
South Korea's largest crypto exchange, Upbit, added six new assets this week, but the results were far from uniform. The platform listed Cysic, Impossible Cloud Network, Anoma, OpenEden, AIOZ Network, and Allora. While some tokens surged on the news, others faced significant selling pressure. The launch faced technical hurdles, as Upbit delayed the debut twice before ultimately postponing the start for Cysic due to liquidity concerns.
The market reaction shows a clear preference for specific sectors. Compute and AI related tokens saw the strongest interest, with Cysic jumping 32 percent and AIOZ Network gaining nearly 20 percent. OpenEden, which focuses on tokenized Treasury products, also climbed 11 percent. These gains highlight how traders are currently prioritizing projects linked to tangible infrastructure and real world assets.
Not every project enjoyed the spotlight. Anoma struggled during its debut, falling roughly 38 percent. The exchange had to intervene by adjusting the minimum sell price to manage the volatility. Other additions like Impossible Cloud Network and Allora remained relatively flat, suggesting that the Upbit listing effect is becoming more selective rather than a guaranteed rally for all new assets.
Investors should watch the pending launch of Cysic closely. Since the project's start was delayed, its actual performance once the order book opens will serve as a test of whether the recent price spike reflects genuine demand or just temporary listing hype. Upbit continues to enforce strict guardrails, including temporary limits on buy orders to prevent extreme initial volatility.
