LIVERecent SEC filings show that Grayscale's XRP trust reduced its holdings by more than half during the first six months of 2026. The trust held 122.23 million tokens at the end of last year, but that number dropped to 55.04 million by June 30. This reduction was primarily driven by investor redemptions, which forced the trust to sell over 100 million XRP tokens during the period.
The value of the assets held in the trust also saw a sharp decline, falling from $223.36 million to $57.41 million. This contraction coincides with a difficult price environment for XRP, which dropped more than 40 percent in the first half of the year. The trust also recorded millions in realized and unrealized losses as it managed share redemptions and ongoing operational expenses.
Despite the selloff, the broader market context shows that XRP ETFs have seen over $1.4 billion in net inflows since their debut in late 2024. For now, traders are keeping a close watch on the $1 support level. With the token hovering near its yearly lows, investors are looking for any signs of renewed institutional interest or clarity from upcoming legislative developments in Washington.
