LIVEBitcoin miner and cloud provider BitFuFu reported a drop in its treasury holdings during July, falling to 1,314 BTC from 1,671 BTC the previous month. The company stated that advance payments for nearly a year of future hashrate caused the decline. At the same time, total production slipped from 125 BTC to 112 BTC, and average daily output dropped to 3.6 BTC. Total managed hashrate also fell from 15.3 EH/s to 14.2 EH/s.
Despite the drop in current production and reserves, management expects fresh capacity to push total managed hashrate up to roughly 20 EH/s by mid August. However, the exact financial terms of these compute deals remain unclear. The company did not disclose the supplier, pricing, or energy costs in its latest filing, leaving traders guessing about the true unit economics behind the expansion.
Traders and market watchers should keep a close eye on the mid August operational update to confirm whether the company hits its 20 EH/s target. While reaching that goal would show the new capacity is online, future reports must clarify whether these aggressive advance payments actually make financial sense for the long term health of the treasury.
