Australian financial regulator AUSTRAC has suspended the registration of crypto ATM operator Cryptolink for three months. This move effectively forces 96 machines across the country to go offline immediately. The regulator took this step after finding that the company failed to meet basic reporting requirements for financial transactions.

AUSTRAC CEO Brendan Thomas stated that the company did not submit necessary reports or respond to official requests for information. The regulator now views the operator as too high risk to continue business. This decision follows a history of warnings, including an earlier infringement notice and an enforceable undertaking issued back in October 2025 regarding weak risk assessments.

This shutdown reflects a growing trend of global scrutiny toward crypto kiosks. Authorities in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom are also tightening their grip on these machines due to concerns about money laundering and criminal activity. Operators should expect continued pressure as regulators demand stricter oversight of physical crypto terminals.
