LIVEThe XRP Ledger has released version 3.3.0 to better support institutional users who want to tokenize real world assets. The update introduces a feature called Confidential Transfers. This tool allows institutions to hide specific transaction amounts and wallet balances for certain tokens while keeping the asset type visible. By using cryptographic proofs, the network can confirm that a transaction is valid without making the financial data public, which solves a major privacy concern for large firms.
Beyond privacy, the update includes three other functional improvements. The Batch feature lets users bundle up to eight transactions together, ensuring that either all of them succeed or none do. This is helpful for complex financial settlements. The Sponsor feature allows one account to cover fees for another, making it easier for companies to onboard new users who do not hold XRP. Lastly, Permission Delegation gives account holders a way to grant specific permissions to other parties without giving up total control of their wallet.
These changes are not live yet. The network governance process requires 80 percent of trusted validators to vote in favor of these amendments for two weeks before they take effect. If passed, these tools could make the ledger a more attractive environment for banks and large financial entities currently exploring tokenization.
