Wellington Enters Onchain Credit With New Morpho Vault
Traditional asset giant Wellington Management is bringing its credit strategy onchain through a new lending vault on Morpho.
Sentora is launching a new lending vault on Morpho that accepts a unique token as collateral. The token, known as mWIN, is backed by an actively managed credit portfolio run by Wellington Management. This Boston based asset manager currently oversees more than one trillion dollars in assets.
The mWIN token was originally issued by Midas back in August. This setup allows traders and investors to use traditional credit strategies within decentralized finance protocols, bridging the gap between old finance and modern blockchain tools.
TradFi adoption of blockchain rails continues to pick up speed. Market participants will watch to see how much capital flows into this new vault and if other large asset managers follow Wellington onto the blockchain.
