LIVEMicroStrategy CEO Phong Le recently highlighted a tight competition among Wall Street giants. While Fidelity remains the clear leader in Bitcoin adoption, banks like Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan are neck and neck for the second spot. According to the company's Bitcoin Banking Adoption Index, most major banks are now actively building out their crypto services.
Fidelity holds a massive lead with a score of 71%, thanks to starting its custody business way back in 2018. BNY Mellon follows at 46%, while Goldman Sachs is right behind at 45%. Other heavy hitters like JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, and Citi are tied at 43%, showing how crowded the middle of the pack has become as these institutions rush to add digital asset features.
This index looks at more than just price. It tracks how deeply banks are integrating Bitcoin through trading, custody, and new products. MicroStrategy Chairman Michael Saylor noted that while overall bank adoption is still early at around 32%, the momentum is picking up. Many of these banks have new crypto projects scheduled to launch before the end of the year.
This shift marks a major turning point for institutional crypto. As banks compete to launch exchange traded products and better custody tools, the market becomes more stable for everyone. Traders should keep an eye on these big names through December, as the next wave of bank backed products could reshape how Wall Street handles Bitcoin.
