LIVEShiba Inu is struggling to hold investor interest as futures data shows a sharp decline in activity. Eight out of ten crypto exchanges report that traders are closing positions in SHIB at a rate that far outpaces new entries. This trend began to gain momentum last year and has continued to intensify through early 2026.
Major platforms are seeing significant drops in derivatives volume. KuCoin alone saw its SHIB futures volume fall by nearly 70 percent, while Bitget and MEXC reported declines of 41 percent and 34 percent respectively. Other platforms like OKX and Gate are also seeing consistent downward pressure on open interest.
The price of the token recently touched lows of 0.0000054 dollars, marking a 67 percent decline over the past year. With the broader market focusing on other sectors like artificial intelligence, attracting new capital back to this meme coin remains a difficult challenge for holders.
This cooling period signals that SHIB is firmly stuck in a bear market cycle. Traders are increasingly moving their capital to other assets that show more promise, making a near term recovery for the token look unlikely.
