LIVEBitcoin has entered a familiar weekend lull, spending the last 36 hours stuck near the $63,000 mark. After a difficult week that saw the price drop from $65,000 down to a 10 day low of $62,500, the market has settled into a period of relative calm. Bitcoin currently holds a market capitalization of $1.265 trillion, with its dominance over the broader market staying below 57 percent.
The weekly performance across the altcoin sector has been a mixed bag with red numbers appearing on many charts. Notable decliners this week include UNI with an 18 percent drop, ADA down by over 10 percent, and DOT falling 7 percent. Ethereum and Ripple also saw modest pullbacks as investors remain cautious during this stagnant period for the total market cap, which sits at roughly $2.23 trillion.
Despite the downward trend for many major assets, some coins managed to break away from the pack. WLD and WLFI both posted gains of over 13 percent, while LINK also climbed by 13 percent to reach $9.40. Other notable performers included XMR and HYPE. Traders will likely keep a close eye on whether Bitcoin can gather enough momentum to break out of this tight range once the traditional work week begins.
