A former U.S. Postal Service worker named Juawan Reed has pleaded guilty to federal charges for his role in a large bank fraud conspiracy. Reed admitted to stealing mail from the Camden Carrier Annex and passing checks to accomplices who laundered the money through fake business accounts.

Court records show the group caused over $2.4 million in actual losses. Prosecutors noted that the operation was set up to steal more than $20 million, including one stolen Treasury check valued at over $686,000. Reed also admitted to identity theft and failing to report illegal earnings on his tax filings.

Two other men, Christopher Hayman and Tyree Holmes, also pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges related to the scheme. The case highlights the ongoing battle against physical mail theft used to fund digital and traditional financial crimes. Authorities continue to monitor how these stolen funds impact the stability of banking institutions.
