US Home Buyers Set for Payouts in $120M Real Estate Settlement

Home buyers across the United States are now eligible to claim a portion of a $120.33 million settlement. The payment comes after a lawsuit accused the National Association of Realtors and various brokerage firms of keeping broker commissions artificially high. While the defendants continue to deny any wrongdoing, they agreed to the payout to resolve the claims and end the ongoing legal dispute.

The settlement specifically targets individuals who purchased a home listed on a multiple listing service during the specified class period. Sellers are excluded from this particular agreement. The total amount each person receives will depend on the final number of valid claims submitted and the specific details of their property transaction.

To receive a share of the funds, eligible buyers must submit a claim either online or by mail before the October 27, 2026, deadline. A final fairness hearing is scheduled for November 2, 2026, to conclude the process.
