LIVEThe past month brought several technical improvements to the Pi Network ecosystem. During the annual Pi2Day event in late June, the core team introduced tools like PiVerify and SoloHost to help developers build and manage applications. Shortly after, the team updated the Pi App Studio to support better data storage, a move aimed at making the platform more reliable for production apps.
User experience also saw a focus with a redesigned Pi Browser, which aims to make finding applications easier. Additionally, the team finished distributing the Slice testnet token to nearly half a million participants. This initiative is designed to help both the community and developers practice using features like liquidity pools and token allocations before future mainnet launches.
However, the project faced challenges as well. A July deadline for a mainnet migration update passed without official confirmation of success from the team. Meanwhile, security concerns remain, as some users reported missing tokens and phishing attempts aimed at stealing wallet passphrases.
Market performance for PI has been particularly tough recently. The token dropped below the key 10 cent support level in July and set new lows near 7 cents. Although it attempted a recovery, it failed to break back above 10 cents and continues to trade at a significant discount from its historical highs. Traders should watch for any official confirmation on the recent protocol migration and monitor whether the token can reclaim its previous support levels.
