LIVEMichael Saylor is clarifying his position on Bitcoin after his company sold another 1,638 units this past week. The co founder noted that while he personally follows a strict buy and hold strategy, MicroStrategy is a public company with different financial requirements. He pointed out that since 2020, the firm has disclosed it may sell holdings to manage corporate capital.
The sales follow a pattern of activity from the firm, which also offloaded 3,588 Bitcoin toward the end of June. Saylor maintains that these moves do not signal a lack of belief in the asset. Instead, the company is using the funds to repurchase its own shares.
This capital management strategy appears to be having an effect on the company stock, which climbed to $92 recently. While the price remains below the $100 par value, the stock has recovered significantly from its recent $75 low point. Investors will likely keep watching to see if the company continues to balance its Bitcoin holdings alongside these stock repurchases.
