LIVEAmerican Bitcoin reported a net loss of $57.2 million for the second quarter of 2026, dropping down from a profit during the same period last year. The decline came as the wider market faced lower coin prices alongside rising mining costs and network difficulty. Despite the financial loss, the company managed to post its highest quarterly production on record by mining roughly 932 coins.
Investors responded positively to the news, pushing the company stock up over five percent on Monday afternoon. Instead of selling off mined assets, management chose to aggressively expand the corporate treasury. The firm boosted its total stack from 7,021 to 8,002 coins, pushing the total value of its reserves past $510 million at current market prices.
Co founder Eric Trump emphasized that the company conviction in the leading cryptocurrency remains strong. Chief Executive Officer Mike Ho noted that the team focused on internal controls and building out infrastructure despite difficult market conditions.
Unlike several rival miners that have pivoted toward high powered computing and artificial intelligence data centers, American Bitcoin continues to focus entirely on mining and holding the asset. Market watchers will now monitor if this pure play treasury strategy pays off as the broader crypto market moves through changing cycles.
