Kraken Token Delisting: August 27 Deadline Puts Funds at Risk

Crypto exchange Kraken is reaching the final phase of its token removal process, setting an August 27 deadline at 14:00 UTC for users to withdraw 21 specific tokens. Trading and deposits for these assets stopped back in May, but this upcoming cutoff marks the final chance for traders to pull their funds off the platform before withdrawals close permanently.

Following the deadline, Kraken will automatically liquidate any remaining balances into markets that may feature very low liquidity. Tokens on the affected list include AURA, BIT, BOND, BSX, FARM, GARI, K, KET, KINTO, LOBO, MOON, MV, NYM, RAIIN, RHEA, SAROS, SDN, SPC, SPICE, TEA, and TEER. TEER faces extra risks because the underlying project has stopped operations and onchain transactions are no longer working.

Exchange delistings typically cause sharp drops in liquidity, leaving investors with little control over their exit prices. Kraken noted that several of these assets trade in inactive markets, meaning forced sales could return minimal or near zero payouts for anyone who misses the withdrawal window.

Traders holding any of the 21 affected tokens should check their accounts and complete withdrawals before the August 27 deadline. Any tokens left on the platform will be liquidated between September 1 and September 5 based on whatever market conditions are available at that time.
