LIVETokenization protocol Kaio recently made waves by launching a new fund with Mubadala Capital, the alternatives investment arm of Abu Dhabi's sovereign wealth fund. Shrey Rastogi, the co founder and CEO of Kaio, shared details about moving roughly 75 million dollars onchain across the Base, Solana, and Sui networks. Coinbase even decided to hold a portion of its treasury in the fund.
During a recent industry discussion, Rastogi explained how Kaio handles strict jurisdictional compliance and know your customer rules directly inside its smart contract architecture. He pointed out that tokenized real world assets currently sit around a 26 billion dollar market size, which is just a tiny fraction of the 12 trillion to 16 trillion dollars in traditional assets that could eventually move onchain.
Rastogi started his crypto journey back in 2016 after dealing with expensive remittance fees. After building tokenized fund infrastructure at Brevan Howard, he became a firm believer that open, public blockchains will easily outperform private enterprise networks.
Looking ahead, traders should watch how major financial institutions adopt public ledgers for asset tokenization. Rastogi expects a complete upgrade of traditional capital markets over the next couple of years as more institutional players test public blockchain rails.
