LIVEIf you hold a Cypher or Osmosis card, you need to act immediately. Spending on these cards will officially end at midnight UTC on August 8. While some notices caused confusion regarding the timeline, users should treat August 7 as the final day for transactions to be safe. Both personal and business cards are impacted by this shutdown, which follows the acquisition of Cypher by the payments company Nium.
Cardholders have until September 6 to withdraw any remaining balances and claim rewards. You can move your funds by logging into the app, navigating to the cards section, and selecting the withdrawal option. Withdrawals are processed in USDC on the Base network and typically arrive within 48 hours. Please note that all reward programs, including CYPR incentives, will permanently end after the September deadline.
While card balances are the priority, users should not ignore their self custody wallets. These wallets will lose access once the Cypher app and dApp go offline. You must back up your recovery credentials and export your private keys to a compatible wallet before the platform shuts down completely. If you fail to move your assets or secure your keys, you risk losing access to your funds after the cutoff date.
