Blockstream Launches Swaps for Lightning and Main Network

Bitcoin infrastructure company Blockstream just introduced a new feature called Blockstream Swaps. This tool lets users make trustless swaps to move funds quickly between the main Bitcoin blockchain and the Lightning network.

The timing is notable because non custodial swap provider Boltz recently suspended its own service. Boltz stated that attackers were finding vulnerabilities faster than the team could fix them using artificial intelligence.

Blockstream noted that users will keep full control of their funds during the process. People can use Lightning without running a node or managing a channel, making the second layer much easier to access.

Security experts warn that cybercriminals are increasingly using artificial intelligence to hunt for bugs in crypto projects. Blockstream stated its new tool was already in development to support the broader ecosystem and complement existing providers.
