LIVEBlackRock is shifting its crypto strategy by increasing its Ethereum holdings while slightly reducing its Bitcoin position. Between early July and early August, the firm saw its Ethereum Trust holdings grow by over 196,000 ETH. This push brought their total Ethereum stash to roughly 2.97 million coins, now valued at about $5.54 billion.
During this same window, the company’s Bitcoin ETF experienced a modest decline of 3,710 BTC. Even with this sale, the value of their Bitcoin holdings actually rose by $2.67 billion because the market price of Bitcoin increased during the month. This suggests the firm is effectively balancing its portfolio rather than abandoning the leading cryptocurrency.
The activity has caught the attention of traders who watch the ETH/BTC price ratio. The pair has seen a breakout of more than 5 percent since July. Analysts suggest that if this accumulation trend continues, the relative strength of Ethereum against Bitcoin could keep rising toward the 0.0312 level. It is a space to watch as institutional capital flows continue to influence these two major assets.
