Dogecoin is facing a tough period in the market after Bitwise announced plans to shut down its Dogecoin ETF next month. Bitwise told customers that the fund, known as BWOW, will hold its final trading session on October 14. Investors will receive their cash after the fund goes through liquidation.

The shutdown comes down to lower than expected investor interest. Since launching in November 2025, the Dogecoin product pulled in just $300 million in total trading volume. Other rival crypto funds performed much better, with Hyperliquid and Zcash funds bringing in billions. Even though other Dogecoin ETFs from firms like Grayscale and 21Shares remain active, this move adds a layer of skepticism to the market.

Meanwhile, the price of DOGE has pulled back to $0.08493 amid broader market pressure. Traders are dealing with weak ETF inflows, profit taking, and rising worries over potential interest rate hikes from the Federal Reserve. Market participants will want to watch how remaining Dogecoin investment products hold up and whether key support levels can stop the current slide.
