Crypto manager Bitwise is closing its spot Dogecoin exchange traded fund, BWOW, after just ten months on the market. The firm is winding down the product to better align its offerings with current investor preferences. Trading on NYSE Arca will continue until October 14, which serves as the final day for the fund.

Investors who hold shares do not need to take any action. The fund will cease operations after the final trading day, and remaining shareholders will receive the net asset value of their positions in cash by October 22. Bitwise is working directly with the NYSE to handle the delisting and liquidation process.

The decision comes as interest in Dogecoin ETFs remains thin. Despite initial excitement when the products launched in 2025, the funds have struggled to attract steady capital. Recent data shows total net outflows for these products reaching over one million dollars, indicating that many investors are moving their money elsewhere.

Even with the ETF closure, Dogecoin shows signs of life on the price charts. The asset rose nearly 20 percent over the last month during a broader market rally. Analysts are now watching for potential technical rebounds, as some market observers point to emerging buy signals that have historically preceded short term price gains for the meme coin.
