Bitget Exits Japan Market by End of 2026
Bitget is closing its operations in Japan, requiring users to wrap up their trading activity before the new year.
coinbeat.newsCrypto exchange Bitget confirmed this week that it is pulling out of the Japanese market. The platform shared plans for a phased shutdown on August 2, notifying customers that they have until December 31, 2026, to finalize their business on the site.
Starting August 3, the exchange stopped accepting registrations for new accounts from residents in Japan. Existing users should be aware that any open trading positions will be closed automatically once the final December deadline passes.
This shift highlights the ongoing pressure exchanges face when operating in strictly regulated regions. Traders in Japan who use Bitget should prepare to move their assets to other platforms well before the end of the year to avoid any disruption to their portfolios.
