LIVEBitcoin spot trading volume has fallen to its lowest level since early 2024. After seeing daily volumes reach 25 billion dollars during the recent bull market, activity has now cooled to about 4.5 billion dollars per day. This marks the first time volume has stayed under the five billion dollar threshold since the surge triggered by the launch of United States spot ETFs.
This drop is largely tied to a decrease in activity from large investors, often called whales. While long term holders are still adding to their stacks, the pace of this accumulation has slowed down significantly. Data shows that net additions from these investors dropped from 40,000 coins in May to about 14,000 in July.
Market watchers are keeping a close eye on these figures. Historically, Bitcoin price recoveries are closely linked to spikes in trading volume. As the price sits near 63,710 dollars, traders are waiting to see if volume will return to support a stronger upward move.
