Bitcoin Network Activity Hits a Low Not Seen Since 2018
Active Bitcoin addresses have dipped to levels mirroring the 2018 bear market, but a recent uptick suggests things may be turning around.

LIVEBitcoin is facing a notable decline in network activity. Data shows that the number of daily active addresses, which counts unique wallets sending or receiving coins, has fallen to levels last seen during the market downturn of 2018 and 2019. On August 9, the network recorded about 545,233 active addresses.
While this drop feels significant, there is a silver lining. The 30 day simple moving average for active addresses has recently climbed to its highest point since late May. This shift suggests that the network is beginning to see a renewed wave of interest from users, which often points to broader market adoption.
Market watchers are keeping a close eye on these metrics as the price of Bitcoin struggles. With the asset down more than 25 percent this year, any growth in address activity is a positive sign. If this trend of increasing participation continues, it could support a stronger price recovery similar to the rallies that followed previous market bottoms.
