Two of the biggest names in Bitcoin mining are feeling the heat. MARA and CleanSpark both posted double digit revenue drops in their latest financial reports. The numbers show a tough environment for traditional mining operations as companies look for new ways to make money.

MARA reported a widened net loss of $611.3 million, which comes out to $1.60 per diluted share. At the same time, CleanSpark posted a net loss of $239.8 million, or $0.89 per basic share. These heavy losses highlight the financial pressure miners face as operational costs rise and profit margins shrink.

Both firms are actively pivoting toward artificial intelligence infrastructure to offset mining challenges. Setting up data centers for artificial intelligence requires major capital, which explains the current financial strain. Traders should watch how these infrastructure pivots progress and whether the artificial intelligence bet pays off for their bottom lines in the coming quarters.
