Bhutan is back to selling its Bitcoin holdings. Data shows the government moved roughly 435 BTC, worth about 28 million dollars, to the Binance exchange this week. This move follows a month of inactivity and indicates that officials are continuing their strategy of using crypto mining proceeds to fund national development.

This latest transfer is smaller than previous sales. In July, the government moved 700 BTC to the exchange, and prior months saw similar batches sold throughout the spring and early summer. The state has been consistently offloading portions of its stack since early 2026.

The capital raised from these sales is earmarked for the Gelephu Mindfulness City. This ambitious project aims to create a massive special economic zone covering over 2,600 square kilometers. The region is intended to serve as a hub for green technology and sustainable digital finance.

Traders are watching these movements closely as they look for signs of selling pressure on the market. While the amount moved this time is relatively modest, the pattern of consistent sales remains a factor to monitor as the government continues to build its new autonomous economic zone.
