Zamanat Launches $100M Tokenized Credit Fund for GCC SMEs

Zamanat has introduced a new tokenized private credit fund based in the Dubai International Financial Centre. The fund, which targets a total size of $100 million, intends to provide essential capital to small and medium enterprises across the GCC. Currently, many businesses in the region struggle to secure loans, as only 11 percent of these companies have access to traditional credit channels.

The initiative uses the ZIGChain network to issue digital interests known as ZM1 Investment Tokens. By tokenizing the fund, Zamanat plans to simplify how professional investors interact with private credit assets. The structure remains under the oversight of the Dubai Financial Services Authority, ensuring that the process meets standard regulatory requirements while adopting blockchain technology for settlement and ownership.

This move highlights the growing intersection between traditional finance and digital assets. With only a small fraction of bank lending currently reaching SMEs in places like the UAE, the fund aims to support economic growth by offering an alternative route for capital. The project is managed by Truleum Venture Partners and supported by Apex Group, marking a step toward establishing a broader market for digital assets that align with regional financial needs.

Investors should note that this fund is strictly for professional clients who meet specific regulatory criteria. As the project progresses, it serves as a testing ground for how tokenization can bring efficiency to private debt. Zamanat intends to use this as a model for future projects involving real estate and other asset classes, further building out the market for digital financial products.
