XRPL Developers Fix Security Flaws Before Major Ledger Update

RippleX plans to release the xrpld 3.3.0 server software as early as next week. This update includes rewritten versions of the Batch and Permission Delegation amendments. These features were previously pulled after researchers discovered security risks that could have allowed attackers to execute unauthorized transactions or drain account balances through repeated fees.

Validators caught these issues early, preventing the flaws from ever reaching the mainnet. By blocking the original proposals, the community ensured that no user funds were lost. The new 3.3.0 update aims to reintroduce these capabilities with better safeguards after rigorous testing.

Now that the code is undergoing final checks, the community will look for a majority consensus among validators. Once the software is stable, it must maintain support from over 80 percent of trusted nodes for two weeks to activate. If these features go live, node operators will need to update their systems to avoid being blocked from the network.
