LIVEHyperliquid is preparing for a major network upgrade with its HIP 4 proposal, which brings permissionless prediction markets straight to the platform. Unlike other platforms where prediction markets run on standalone apps, Hyperliquid will run these markets on its existing trading infrastructure. This means users can trade on future events like elections or crypto milestones using the same order books and liquidity pools they already use for spot and perpetual trading.
To keep the system secure, anyone who wants to create a prediction market must post a massive bond of 500,000 HYPE tokens. At the current price of around $60.92, that is a whopping $30.5 million commitment. This bond carries a slashing risk, meaning creators can lose their funds if they break the rules. This setup adds utility to the HYPE token by locking up supply and tying network participation directly to token ownership.
On the charts, HYPE has been feeling some pressure, trading down 14% over the last month. However, the longer term outlook remains strong, with the token trading above its 100 day and 200 day exponential moving averages. Traders are now watching the key resistance level at $62.16. A daily close above this point could open the gates for a run toward $64.55, while the nearest key support rests at $60.74.
