LIVEA significant shift in HTX reserves has caught the attention of market watchers. Back in June, proof of reserves data showed a decrease of 700 million TRX tokens. At current market rates, this amount is worth approximately 238 million dollars. This move has raised questions about how the exchange manages its assets, especially given its connections to other platforms.
Investigations into the transaction history show these funds did not simply disappear. Instead, portions of the tokens moved into addresses linked to the Poloniex exchange and even some to Binance. One specific address tied to these transactions is currently casting votes for the Poloniex Super Representative. Another large portion of the funds moved through an address that has been associated with Justin Sun.
HTX has faced recent regulatory pressure in the European Union and the United Kingdom, which makes tracking these reserves a priority for users. While these 700 million tokens represent less than 10 percent of the total TRX holdings claimed by the exchange, the complex path the funds took suggests a deep web of internal transfers. The exchange also recently pointed toward a third party custodian for over 1 billion dollars in other assets, adding another layer to the story.
Traders should watch for further updates on the exchange's transparency and any additional changes to their disclosed reserves. As regulators keep a closer eye on crypto platforms, the ability for exchanges to clearly show where customer funds sit will become a primary focus for the market.
