United States authorities moved quickly to restrain roughly $52 million in cryptocurrency linked to Xinbi Guarantee, a large Chinese language illicit marketplace operating on Telegram. The operation also involved seizing the channel networks used by the platform. Blockchain analytics firm Elliptic tracked the wallets over several years, helping law enforcement agencies pinpoint the illicit funds.

Xinbi functioned as a service hub for scam operators, offering custom fraud websites, money laundering tools, and recruitment services for compounds in Southeast Asia. Analysts estimate the marketplace handled at least $24 billion in transactions since 2022. Much of this activity relied on Tether operating on the TRON blockchain. Following the federal freeze, Xinbi attempted to move remaining funds into alternative stablecoins to avoid further action.

Treasury sanctions landed on the same day as the cryptocurrency seizures, labeling Xinbi a significant transnational criminal organization. International partner agencies also dismantled dozens of compounds and arrested hundreds of suspects abroad. Traders should watch how stablecoin issuers respond to these ongoing cross border enforcement actions as regulators target illicit liquidity networks.
