Trezor Data Breach Affects 13,000 Customers
A third party fulfillment partner breach has exposed the personal contact and shipping details of over 13,000 Trezor customers.
coinbeat.newsHardware wallet maker Trezor confirmed that a data breach at its shipping partner, ShipMonk, exposed the personal information of 13,689 customers. The stolen data includes names, phone numbers, email addresses, and home shipping addresses. Trezor stated that its own internal systems remain secure, meaning no private keys or wallet backups were accessed in the incident.
The breach involved customer orders placed between May 10 and August 8 across several countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, and Brazil. Trezor has contacted all affected individuals via email. If you did not receive a direct notification from the company, your information was not part of this specific exposure.
Customers should be on high alert for phishing attempts from attackers posing as legitimate companies. Because physical security is an increasing concern for crypto owners, this incident serves as a reminder to be cautious with personal contact details. Trezor noted that its 90 day data retention policy limited the scope of the breach and plans to introduce new privacy features like locker pickups later this year to better protect user identities.
