LIVEA crypto trader recently turned a modest $2,972 investment into more than $2.1 million in less than half a day. The trade involved a newly launched token called MEME, which sits on the Robinhood Chain. According to on chain data, the trader bought 16.11 million tokens and saw the value of the holding skyrocket almost immediately.
The massive price jump happened alongside a public feud involving AMC Entertainment and its CEO, Adam Aron. The conflict began when the CEO criticized Robinhood for offering tokenized stock exposure for AMC and other companies without proper registration. The crypto community reacted to the news by creating the MEME token, cheekily reinterpreting the ticker AMC as A Meme Coin.
This frenzy pushed the token up by more than 3,100 times in a single day, bringing its market cap to over $60 million. The trader has already sold a small portion of the position for about $85,300, while continuing to hold the remaining tokens valued at roughly $2.03 million.
While this story highlights the potential for quick gains, such outcomes are exceptionally rare. Meme tokens lack traditional fundamentals and rely entirely on social media buzz and speculation. Traders should note that the same volatility driving these gains often results in rapid losses for those who enter the market after the initial surge.
