Tokenized Stock Trading Spikes Thanks to One Popular QQQ Token
Trading volume for tokenized stocks jumped significantly last month, but the surge relied heavily on a single asset.

LIVETokenized equity markets saw a major boost in July with a 288 percent increase in trading volume. This surge suggests growing interest in trading traditional stocks through digital tokens on blockchain networks.
However, a closer look reveals that the growth was not spread evenly across the sector. A specific token tracking the Nasdaq 100 index, known as QQQB, accounted for the vast majority of this activity. Without the volume generated by this single token, the total trading activity for tokenized stocks would have actually dropped by 30 percent compared to June levels.
This trend highlights how concentrated the tokenized stock market remains. While digital asset versions of traditional equities are gaining traction, the sector is currently driven by a few dominant players rather than broad market participation.
Investors should keep an eye on whether other tokenized assets can gain enough volume to sustain the market if interest in QQQB fades. The heavy reliance on one product shows that this market segment is still finding its footing.
