Telehealth provider Call On Doc has agreed to a $1.8 million settlement to resolve allegations that it improperly tracked patient data. The legal dispute centered on claims that the company used third party tracking pixels on its website to share medical information with outside firms without user consent. These actions reportedly violated California state laws regarding patient privacy.

The settlement covers users who created accounts or attempted to book appointments within California between November 2021 and the date of the final judgment. While the company denies all allegations of wrongdoing, it chose to settle to avoid the ongoing costs and uncertainty associated with a protracted court battle.

Eligible individuals can receive up to $20.00 by submitting a claim. The deadline to file an online or mailed claim form is August 29. Those who wish to opt out of the settlement must submit their request by August 10, ahead of the final approval hearing scheduled for August 31.
