Take Two Stock Shrugs Off Latest GTA 6 Gameplay Leaks

Take Two Interactive stock briefly jumped nearly three percent on August 18 as new Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks spread across the internet. The share price climbed from roughly $241 to just above $248 during the trading session, but quickly dropped back down to close at $242. By the following morning, shares slipped slightly in pre market trading, proving that leaked footage has very little long term impact on the publisher market value.

Investors appear more focused on official company updates and upcoming financial milestones rather than internet rumors. Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, and company leadership expects the title to generate massive revenue quickly. Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick previously told shareholders that fiscal 2027 will bring record breaking financial performance, largely due to the upcoming game release.

Management is currently targeting a fiscal 2027 net bookings midpoint of $8.1 billion. Traders should now watch for the extended game preview expected to premiere on Netflix on August 27, which could spark stronger market interest than the recent leaks.
