LIVEStrategy has officially moved to the sidelines. A new filing confirms the company raised $333.7 million through a stock sale this week, but not a single dollar was spent on Bitcoin. This marks the eighth consecutive week the firm has skipped a purchase, breaking its long streak of aggressive accumulation.
Instead of growing its crypto holdings, the company used the new capital to cover preferred share dividends and buy back its own preferred stock. A large portion of the cash, totaling $149.1 million, was funneled into the company's USD reserve. This strategy shift shows the firm is currently focused on cleaning up its balance sheet and managing debt obligations rather than expanding its digital asset position.
Investors are watching closely to see if this pause is temporary. The firm holds 840,447 Bitcoin, with its position currently sitting at a paper loss due to recent market prices. While the company still has significant room for stock buybacks, the halt in crypto buying suggests a change in priorities for the time being.
