Solana Memecoin OnlyMarms Outpaces OnlyFans for Marmot Study

Researchers studying yellow bellied marmots in Colorado found an unusual way to fund their project after losing a major federal grant. The Marmot Adaptive Dynamics Lab launched an OnlyFans page this spring, earning over six thousand dollars by sharing wildlife content. Soon after, a community member launched a Solana based token named OnlyMarms on Pump.fun to support the same cause.

The crypto experiment quickly surpassed the subscription platform. Project pages show total cryptocurrency donations have topped fourteen thousand dollars, more than double the amount raised through OnlyFans. The token itself trades near zero point zero zero zero five dollars after a recent price spike, and the researchers are claiming creator fees to help fund their field work.

While the funding boost is welcome, researchers remain cautious about relying on digital assets. Meme coin trading volumes tend to fade quickly when the internet moves on to the next trend, and most profits often go to early traders instead of the charity. The lab continues to pursue traditional grants while accepting whatever help the crypto community provides.
