LIVEShiba Inu recently hit an all time high of over 1.6 million addresses. Despite this broad interest, data reveals a stark reality. A group of only 703 whale wallets currently holds roughly 94.5 percent of the total supply. These whales represent just 0.04 percent of all investors, meaning a small number of people hold significant power over the price of the token.
The majority of holders are small retail investors. Almost one million of these addresses are considered shrimps, which are wallets holding ten dollars or less. With such a high concentration of supply among a few large accounts, the market remains susceptible to rapid price swings if these whales decide to move their holdings.
Technically, SHIB is currently in a period of consolidation after a year of heavy losses. Some market observers argue this long period of sideways movement often precedes a large breakout. Recent figures also show that the amount of tokens held on centralized exchanges has reached a five year low, which might signal that investors are choosing to hold their tokens rather than sell them.
Investors are split on what happens next. Some analysts see a potential rally on the horizon, while others warn that current trends look similar to bearish patterns from last year. Whether the token faces further downward pressure or begins a recovery remains a key point of interest for the community.
