Real World Assets Overtake Crypto on Hyperliquid Exchange

A major shift is happening on the Hyperliquid exchange. For the first time in a single week, real world assets reached 54 percent of the platform total trading volume. This movement shows that investors are increasingly turning to tokenized versions of stocks, commodities, and other traditional assets rather than just trading standard cryptocurrencies.

Data indicates that individual equities are the main driver of this activity. Specifically, 61 percent of all real world asset volume on the platform now comes from single stocks. This trend highlights the growing success of the HIP 3 framework, which allows users to trade perpetual futures on tokenized assets.

The scale of this shift is significant. Hyperliquid processed $26 billion in real world asset volume recently, which is more than the combined crypto perpetual trading volume of every other decentralized exchange. This suggests that the market for tokenized traditional assets is growing faster than many analysts initially expected.

Market observers point out that the future of decentralized finance may not be limited to crypto tokens alone. If this trend continues, specialized platforms for tokenized assets could become more important than those focused strictly on crypto. Traders should watch to see if this pattern spreads to other exchanges or if Hyperliquid maintains its status as the primary hub for this new asset class.
