LIVEQuantus has officially launched its mainnet, opening the network to miners. The project focuses on protecting digital assets from future quantum computers, which experts believe could eventually break the encryption used by most current blockchains. By using the NIST finalized ML DSA standard from the very first block, the team hopes to avoid the complex migrations other networks will eventually face.
The network operates on a proof of work model and uses a native coin called QTC, which has a supply cap of 21 million. To maintain performance, the chain uses transaction aggregation to handle the larger data sizes typical of post quantum cryptography. During testing, the network reached speeds of 430 transactions per second with 12 second block times.
Beyond basic security, the platform includes a privacy layer and an aggregation layer for higher throughput. Four different security firms audited the technology prior to the launch to ensure it was ready for public use. The team is also tracking the wider market exposure to quantum risks, which they estimate to be in the trillions of dollars.
As the project moves into this new phase, observers will be watching to see how the network manages its transaction sizes as volume grows. The team has promised more information on tokenomics soon as they look to establish their place in the industry.
