The legal case focuses on an incident affecting the 700Dealer.com platform, where sensitive details like names, dates of birth, and Social Security numbers may have been exposed. The company denies any wrongdoing, but the proposed resolution offers compensation to roughly 5.8 million living United States residents who received notice letters in recent months.

Affected individuals can choose between two main options for compensation. People with documented losses can claim up to $2,500 for ordinary expenses by providing bank statements or receipts. Alternatively, anyone who prefers a simple option can request a flat cash payment estimated at $50 without needing to show proof of expenses. All valid claimants also qualify for two years of free credit monitoring services to help protect their personal information from future threats.

Claim forms must be submitted online or sent through the mail with a valid postmark by September 22, 2026. A final court approval hearing is scheduled for October 7, 2026. Keep in mind that final payout amounts might change depending on how many people submit valid claims.
