Meta May Rent AI Compute to Anthropic in $10 Billion Deal

Meta is reportedly in talks to lease AI computing power to Anthropic in a deal potentially worth 10 billion dollars. Under the proposed arrangement, Anthropic would make monthly payments over two years to use Meta’s data center capacity. This deal remains in the early stages and has not been finalized by either side.

This move comes as tech giants face mounting pressure from investors to justify the billions of dollars being poured into artificial intelligence infrastructure. Meta alone plans to spend up to 145 billion dollars this year on AI development. By renting out its surplus computing power, Meta could create a fresh revenue stream to help offset these massive capital expenditures.
