Mental Health Provider Hit By Breach Affecting 50K People

A major nonprofit mental health provider recently suffered a network intrusion that compromised the sensitive data of nearly 50,000 people across the United States. NFI North filed a notice with the New Hampshire Attorney General revealing that an unauthorized party accessed its computer systems and stole confidential files.

The compromised files contain names, Social Security numbers, and protected health information. The breach was detected in early September, prompting the organization to hire forensic specialists, rebuild its affected systems, and notify the FBI.
