Police in Johor have arrested three men following raids on four separate properties used for illegal Bitcoin mining. The operation, known as Ops Letrik, led to the seizure of 71 mining rigs and various networking equipment. Investigators believe the group generated monthly profits of up to $25,000 by bypassing official power meters and forcing the local utility company to cover their electricity costs.

The suspects, including one manager and two technicians, were caught after officials tracked nearly $15,000 in unpaid electricity bills over just one month. By avoiding standard commercial energy rates, the syndicate transformed an otherwise costly mining venture into a high profit operation. This case highlights a persistent issue for authorities in the region who have targeted 16 similar mining sites since early 2025.

While the suspects face potential jail time and heavy fines under local laws, authorities are still hunting for other individuals connected to the network. The raid comes as Bitcoin faces recent market pressure, trading around $65,300. Traders are currently watching to see if the asset can maintain its support at $65,000 or gather enough momentum for a move toward $74,000.
