Payward, the parent company of major crypto exchange Kraken, has reportedly delayed its stock market debut until the second quarter of 2027 at the earliest. The Wyoming based company confidentially filed its draft registration statement with the SEC back in November 2025 after a massive funding round valued the business at twenty billion dollars. Market headwinds and falling crypto prices later forced the team to freeze those listing plans.

Despite the delayed IPO, Kraken continues to expand its core business operations in a big way. The company recently reported strong quarterly revenue growth alongside millions of funded accounts. Payward also completed several major acquisitions, including derivatives venue Bitnomial and stablecoin payments firm Reap, while partnering with the London Stock Exchange to bring traditional stocks onchain.

Other big crypto players like Grayscale and Consensys have also paused their public listing plans following a wave of market changes. Traders will now watch to see how Kraken builds out its platform features and prepares its balance sheet ahead of the newly targeted 2027 listing window.
