LIVERobert Kiyosaki, author of the popular book Rich Dad Poor Dad, posted a warning this week that the largest stock and bond market crash in history is now underway. He claims the downturn started in Europe and Japan before spreading globally. He tied the current situation to predictions from his 2002 book, citing soaring debt, geopolitical tensions, speculative artificial intelligence spending, and retiring baby boomers as the main triggers for the collapse.
To protect against the downturn, Kiyosaki advises dumping traditional cash savings and standard retirement accounts like 401ks. Instead, he tells investors to buy tangible assets such as real estate, oil, gold, silver, and Bitcoin. He views Bitcoin as a scarce digital asset that protects wealth against government money printing and inflation, much like precious metals have done for centuries.
Financial commentators remain skeptical of these claims, pointing out that Kiyosaki has predicted similar massive crashes multiple times over the last few years without them happening on schedule. His past price targets for Bitcoin and gold also have not materialized yet. Even so, his ongoing message reminds traders to think about portfolio diversification as global economic tensions continue to rise.
