Kalshi Files to Launch US500 and Copper Perpetual Futures
Prediction platform Kalshi is asking regulators for permission to offer perpetual futures for U.S. equities and copper.
coinbeat.newsPrediction market platform Kalshi is looking to expand its financial offerings. The company has officially asked the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, or the CFTC, for the green light to list perpetual futures contracts.
These new contracts would track a 500 company U.S. stock index as well as the spot price of copper. While perpetual swaps are incredibly popular in the crypto trading space, they are far less common in traditional U.S. regulated markets. Kalshi hopes to change that.
This move comes as Kalshi continues to push the boundaries of prediction markets in the United States. If the CFTC approves the filing, it could open up a new way for retail traders to speculate on major stock indexes and commodities using the familiar perpetual contract structure.
