LIVEEducation company Genius Group is getting back into the Bitcoin game. After selling off its entire crypto stash earlier this year to clear debt, the company just cleared a major legal hurdle. The US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit removed an injunction that had blocked the firm from issuing shares and raising the capital needed to fund its growth plans.
Following this win, the company announced an ambitious five year plan to build an 827 million dollar Bitcoin treasury and an 800 million dollar artificial intelligence portfolio. To reach these goals, management is looking to copy the strategy used by Michael Saylor and his team at MicroStrategy. The plan involves issuing preferred shares to raise funds without diluting the value of existing common stock.
While the goal is large, the initial steps are small. The company plans to start with a 12.5 million dollar raise, which is only a fraction of its total target. Genius currently holds no Bitcoin after liquidating its previous 440 BTC holdings in April, so this restart marks a fresh beginning for their crypto treasury.
Investors should keep an eye on the company as they attempt to juggle two high stakes portfolios. While their Bitcoin holdings need to be rebuilt from scratch, their AI investment arm is already active with stakes in major private firms. Success now depends on their ability to execute these capital raises as market conditions change.
