Gamer Makes DIY Copper RAM Coolers in 45 Minutes

A creative PC enthusiast named sunrise2209 recently shared a budget hardware project on Reddit. Instead of buying commercial cooling parts for about twenty dollars, the modder spent forty five minutes crafting custom heatsinks out of copper pipes for each stick of RAM.

The clever DIY fix quickly caught the attention of the hardware community, but it also brought immediate concern. Commenters pointed out that copper conducts electricity very well, warning the creator that the homemade pipes could easily cause accidental short circuits inside the computer case.

While the project highlights the fun side of hardware tinkering, safety experts immediately urged the builder to use thermal insulating pads. It serves as a reminder that saving money on PC upgrades is great, but protecting expensive components from electrical hazards always comes first.
